Schwenk me baby one more time
This post is for all of you who I haven’t managed to tell in person… it’s not that I don’t love you, it’s just that I, er, forgot. Yes, that.
I have been given a scholarship by the International Max Planck Research School in Computer Science to study a Master of Science at the Universität des Saarlandes in Saarbrücken, Germany. (Land of the Schwenke. Hence the title. Never mind, it was funny at the time.) So, I will be leaving the country on the 2nd of April, to arrive in Germany on Monday the 3rd.
I’m being looked after rather well — not only does the scholarship pay relatively handsomely in Euros, they pay for one flight over there and one flight back, and they find me an apartment, and help me to get visas, health insurance, and all that jazz. (In the meantime, it seems they find health insurance for me, and indeed also pay for it.) The apartments they have don’t look all that exciting, but I gather they come with very short rent contracts, and ample opportunity to find a place for myself in a month or so. And hey, it takes away the pressure of finding a suitable place right away.
And yes, of course I’ll need to buy myself a Schwenker

Er, excuse me, allow me to quickly edit my spelling in the post, I do of course mean “Schwenker”. By which I mean the following:
